“He that loves reading has everything within his reach.” –William Godwin
“Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.”
Imagination is the door to possibilities. It is where creativity, ingenuity, and thinking outside the box begins for child development. That could only be possible when our children have a burning desire to explore, innovate and create.
It is said that your children are what you are so be what you want them to be.
I personally feel parents play a vital role in supplementing their children’s positive values, norms and standards where they can explore themselves spiritually, intellectually, and socially, their involvement and motivation is needed to boost their cognitive and psychomotor skills where they transform from an ordinary to an extra ordinary personality.
There are multiple hobbies that can be inculcated in children by parental guidance, encouragement, and involvement, Childhood is the time when your kid is still developing his powerful brain. It is also the time when they can freely explore and grow in the direction he wants; it is the time when he picks up the habit of being creative. Indeed, nurturing his creativity is one of the most important gift you can give to your child. A child whose creativity and other skills are well-nurtured have other positive traits, they become a problem solver, critical thinker, confident and persistent who can excel in his vocational life productively.
“Children are like wet cement whatever falls on them makes an impression.” Reading habit is an essential and important aspect for creating the literate society in this world. It shapes the personality of an individual and it helps them to develop the proper thinking methods and creating new ideas. At present, due to the influence of mass media, children do not show much interest in reading the books, magazines and journals etc. There is a devastating need to develop reading habits among individuals in the society. However parents should take active part by cultivating his or her love of knowledge and reading Also, give him or her time to be alone, to think, to reflect, to imagine, to fiddle about, to create. Providing opportunities to participate in extra circular activities in different forms like magazine or debates any constructive competitions where they feel happiness, accomplishment, by receiving any kind of reward from any medium it could be from teachers, parents or any organizations. It is observed that children who engage in competitions “earn critical social skills through interacting with other children, while also learning the value of hard work and developing self-esteem and self-efficacy.”
Importantly, your child needs your appreciation, encouragement and your non-critical acknowledgement of what they are trying to accomplish. Believe them, support them emotionally, Praise their efforts give them positive and intellectual environment that allows their creativity to develop.
It is your words and your believe in them that will impact them for life.
